Comparison of Diagnostic Accuracy of Cone Beam Computed Tomography(CBCT) Images and Periapical Radiograghy in Internal Root Resorption Lesions

[摘要] BackgroundandObjective:Internalrootresorption(IRR)inearlystages,mayhavenoradiographicfacing.Forevaluatingoftheselesions,intraoralperiapicalradiographyisususallyused.Oneofthemostlimitationsforthismethodisitslowdiagnosticdetectiveinformationpower.Theaimofthisstudywastocomparethediagnosticaccuracyofconebeamcomputedtomography(CBCT)withperiapicalradiograghyinearlyinternalrootresorption.SubjectsandMethods:Sixtysinglerootpremolarteethwerecutmesiodistalanddevidedrandomlyintotwogroups(30teethineach).ThetestgroupwassubjectstoartificialIRRincoronalandapicalregionbyroundbur.Thecontrolgroupwasleftuntreated.Thesamplesweremantedonselfcureacrylicresin.CBCTandperiapicalradiographycapturedfromallteeth.TwoblindedradiologistsassessedthepresenceorabsenceofIRRineachtooth.Result:CompleteagreementindiagnoisandprescenceofIPRwasmadebyCBCT.However,withperiapicalradiographyonly1/3ofapicallesionswerediagnosed.Conclusion:ThefinidengsofthisstudydemosmntratedthatCBCThasahigheraccurcyindetectinginternalrootresorptionlesionsparticularlyinapicalsitesthanperiapicalradiography.
