An in vitro Comparison of Microleakage in Composite Inlays with Two Different Methods of Surface Treatment
[摘要] BackgroundandObjective:Inordertoestablishmicromechanicalretention,theinternalsurfaceofindirectcompositerestorationmustbemadebeforesubmittedtotreatment.Theaimofthisinvitroinvestigationwastocompareofmicroleakageindirectcompositeinlayrestorationbetweentwodifferentsurfacetreatments.MaterialsandMethods:Using75extractednon-carioushumanpremolars,followingcavitypreparation,allsampleswererestoredbycompositeinlaysafterremovalofinlays.Thesampleswererandomlydividedinto3groups(n=25),accordingtothefollowingsurfacetreatmentmethods:sandblastingwith50mAl2O3particles,etchingwith9.5%hydrofluoricacidandnon-treatedcontrolgroups.Allinlayswerecementedtothetoothcavitieswithdualcurecement.Thesampleswerethermocycled(500cyclesat5-55C),sectionedandextentofdyepenetrationatgingivalmarginswasscoredbetwoindependentoperators.ThedatawerestaticallyanalyzedwithKruskalWallisandMann-Whitneytests.Results:Airabrasionresultedinasignificantdecreaseinmicroleakageamongallgroups(P=0.030).Sandblastingledtolessmicroleakagecomparedtohydrofluoricacidtreatment(P=0.0385)andcontrol(P=0.008).Nosignificantdifferencewasobservedbetweenhydrofluoricacidandcontrolgroup.Conclusion:Sandblastingresultedinasignificantreductioninmicroleakage,incompositeinlays.
