Comparing the Effect of Adding Olanzapine Versus Perphenazine on Maintenance Treatment of Bipolar Type 1

[摘要] BackgroundandObjective:Bipolardisorderisoneofthemostcommonpsychiatricdisorderincommunity.bipolarisanimportantdisorderbecauseofitsprevalenceandseriouscomplicationssuchassuicide,substanceabuse,lossofwellbeingandfunction,thisstudywasinvestigatedtodeterminetheefficacyofaddingperphenazineversusolanzapininmaintenancetreatmentofbipolar.SubjectsandMethods:thisstudyisaninterventionalstudyon40bipolarpatients(16-50yearsold)referredtoGolestanhospitalpsychiatricclinicin2011.Durationofthestudywas8weeks.SeverityofmaniawasassessedwithYMRSat0,3,6weeks.ThedatawasanalizedbyusingSPSS.Results:Inbothgroupssymptomsweresignificantlyimprovedattheendofstudy(p=0.000,p=0.001).Youngmaniaratingscalebetweentwogroupswasnotsignificantlydifferent(p=0.2).Conclusion:Becauseofsmallsamplesize,shortdurationofstudyandaddingantipsychoticdrugsonmoodstabilizer,furtherfutureworksshoudebeconsidered.
