The study of analgesic effect of hydroalcoholic extract of FicuscaricaLeafin rat by formalin test
[摘要] BackgroundandObjective:Whereastheavailablesyntheticanalgesicdrugshavesideeffects,itseemstobelogicaltousingherbalmedicineswithfewsideeffects.Thepurposeofthisstudywastheevaluationofanalgesiceffectofhydroalcoholicextractofficuscaricaleafandcomparingitwithmorphineandaspirin.MaterialsandMethods:ThisstudywasdoneonmaleratsofWistarspecies.Theanimalsweredividedintoninegroups(n=6rats).Anegativecontrolgroupreceivedasingleintraperitonealdoseofnormalsaline(5ml/kg).Twopositivecontrolgroupsreceivedmorphine(2.5mg/kg)andaspirin(300mg/kg)intraperitoneally,respectively.Fivetreatmentgroupsreceivedasingleintraperitonealdoseof200,400,600,800and1000mg/kgofhydroalcoholicextractofFicuscaricaleaves,andagroupreceivedhydroalcoholicextract(800mg/kg)withnaloxon(1mg/kg).Inthisstudy,theanalgesiceffectswereinvestigatedviaformalintest.Results:Theresultsshowedthatthe600,800,1000mg/kgofextracthadanalgesiceffectssignificantlydifferentincomparisonwithnegativecontrolgroup.Ourresultsshowedthattheanalgesiceffect(800mg/kg)waslessthanaspirinonthesecondphaseofpainandmorphineonbothpainphases.Naloxonecouldreducetheanalgesiceffectofextractonthesecondphaseofpain.Conclusion:ThehydroalcoholicextractofFicuscaricaleafcontainsanalgesiceffectsinbothpainphases.ItcanbeconcludedthatFicuscaricaleafextractmayinduceitseffectthroughopioidreceptorsactivation.
