Determining the Optimum Parameters of Phenol Removal from Industrial Effluents by Using Ostrich Feathers
[摘要] BackgroundsandObjectives:Phenolisoneoftheorganicpollutantsthatisfoundinindustrialeffluentsandisverytoxicforhumanandenvironment.Thisstudyproposestheuseofostrichfeathersasanaturalsourceofactiveaminoacidstoremovephenolfromaqueoussolution.MaterialsandMethods:Forthisstudy,ostrichfeatherhasbeenusedasasyntheticadsorbentinremovalofphenolindifferentdoses0.2,0.3,0.5,0.7,1,1.5g/100ml.Besides,theeffectsofchangingcontacttime,pH,adsorbentdoseandtemperaturehasbeendetermined.DescriptionofadsorptionFreundlichisothermhasalsobeenaccomplishedandExcelsoftwareforanalyzingthedatawasused.Results:Theresultobtainedrevealedthatbyincreasingthedosageofthesorbentfrom0.2gto0.7gtheadsorptionincreases.TheadsorptionofphenoldecreasesbytheincreaseofthepHvalueofthesolution.Inaddition,itisobservedthatthecontacttimesignificantlyaffecttherateofphenoladsorption(70%)fromsolution.Conclusion:Generally,theadsorbentwasappliedsuccessfullyfortreatingindustrialwatersamplesandaqueoussolution.
