Rain may have more Influence than Temperature on Nest Abandonment in the Great Tit Parus major
[摘要] ThemainaimofthisstudywastoinvestigatewhichweatherparameterhasgreaterinfluenceonnestabandonmentintheGreatTitParusmajor,temperatureorrain,andtodetermineduringwhichbreedingperiodnestsarethemostsusceptibletoabandonment.Breedingparametersofanest-boxpopulationinSloveniaweremonitoredoverathreeyearperiodattwolocationsinthreealtitudebelts.Weatherparametersweremeasureddaily.From160firstnestingattempts,35nestswereabandoned.Themajorityofabandonednestswerefoundduringtheincubationperiod,followedbythefirsthalfofthenestlingperiod.Theamountofrainfallwasmoreimportantthantemperatureinexplainingvariationinnestabandonment.
