Long-Term Dynamics of Long-Eared Owls Asio otus at a Northern Winter Roost in European Russia
[摘要] WeinvestigatedthefactorsinfluencingthedynamicsofLong-earedOwlsAsiootuswinteringinMoscow.Thestudywascarriedoutin2001–2011.Twelvecommunalroostsand14solitarywinteringowlswerefound.Numberofactiveroostswaspositivelycorrelatedwiththetotalnumberofwinteringowlsperyear.Thefourlargestroostswereactiveformanyyears,withupto16individualsinasinglewinter(9.9±1.3onaverage).GeneralizedlinearmodelsindicatedthatthenumberofwinteringowlswasinfluencedsimultaneouslybytheabundanceofCommonVoleMicrotusarvalisinthepreviousautumnandinspring,andtheowls'breedingnumbersinthestudyplot.Themostimportantfactorwasvoleabundanceinearlyspringindirectlyindicatingfoodsupplyinlatewinter.TheinfluenceofweatherwasinvestigatedontheregularlysurveyedlocalsiteinMoscow.Themaximumnumberofowlsattheroostingsitevariedfrom0to9individuals(2.1±0.4onaverage).Amongweatherfactors,themostimportantinfluenceonthedynamicsofowlswasbysnowcoverandwindjointly,thoughthesnowwasundoubtedlyofgreatestsignificance.Airtemperatureandprecipitationturnedouttobealmostofnoimportanceforowldynamicsattheroostingsite.
