Non-Exotic Invasion of Great-Tailed Grackles Quiscalus mexicanus in a Tropical Dry Forest Reserve
[摘要] WereporttworecordingsofGreat-tailedGracklesQuiscalusmexicanusintheChamelaBiosphereReserve,whichisanimportantconservationareaforpristinetropicaldryforestsinWestMexico.Theserecordingsareimportantforthreemainreasons:(1)theyrevealtherecentencroachmentofthereservebyhuman-disturbedareas;(2)therecordedgracklesfoughtwithWestMexicanChachalacasOrtalispoliocephala,andwon,underliningtheirpossiblenegativeeffectstowardsothernativebirdspecies;and(3)ifGreat-tailedGracklessuccessfullyinvadetheconservationarea,itcouldturnintoanunmanageablescenariowithpossiblenegativeconsequenceswithinanimportantareaforbirdconservationinthedrytropics.
