[摘要] TheGoughMoorhenisendemictoGoughIslandandisclassifiedbytheIUCNasThreatened.WepresentseveralobservationsofGoughMoorhenspreyingonintroducedHouseMiceMusmusculusandoneggsandchicksofburrow-nestingprocellariiformseabirds.Theincidenceofeggpredationisalmostcertainlyrelatedtoincubationbreaksorabandonment.WeestimatethatMoorhenscouldaccessanddepredateunattendedeggsofatleastfivespeciesbutlevelsofpredationappeartobelowandareunlikelytoaffectpopulationparametersofimpactedspecies.Moorhenshuntinglivemiceandscavengingcarcassespresentsasignificantconservationconcern.ApossibleeradicationofmicefromGoughIslandislikelytoemploypoisonsthataretoxictotheMoorhens.ThereforesecondarypoisoningofMoorhens,byeatingpoisonedmice,isathreattotheGoughMoorhens.Aneradicationeffortwillberequiredtotakeappropriatemitigationmeasures.TheintroducedGoughMoorhenpopulationonTristandaCunhaservesasanexsitupopulationandcould,ifrequired,beusedtore-stockGough.
