Effect of PIT Tags on the Survival and Recruitment of Great Tits Parus major
[摘要] Wedescribetheuseofsubcutaneouspassiveintegratedtransponder(PIT)tagsinnestlingandadultGreatTitsParusmajor.WeinvestigatedwhethersubcutaneousPITtagsaffectedfledgingsuccess,wintercondition,survivaland/orrecruitment.WefoundnonegativeeffectsofPITtagsonanyofthesemeasureseitherinjuvenilesorinadults.SubcutaneousPITtagshavetheadvantagethattheriskoftaglossisnegligibleandthatfurtherdatacollectioncanbeautomated.ThesubcutaneousimplantationofPITtagsprovidesapromisingtechniqueforresearchersaimingatgatheringshortorlong-termdatawithouttheneedtohandleordisturbsmallbirdsafterimplantation.
