[摘要] Nestbuildingrequiresparentalinvestmentandweshouldexpecttofindtrade-offsbetweenbuildingandotherbehavioursordemands.Forexample,speciesbreedingintemperatezonesfacetheseasonalshiftfromspringtosummerandmightaltertheirnestconstructioninrelationtoenvironmentalconditionsastheseasonprogresses.Wequantifiedseasonalvariationinthelengthofthenestbuildingperiod,nestmass,composition,HenFleaCeratophyllusgallinaeabundanceandeggproductioninnestboxbreedingBlueTitsCyanistescaeruleus.Thenestbuildingperioddecreasedseasonally,possiblyindicatingindividualadjustmentofoptimaltimeofreproduction.Despitethis,therewasnoseasonaltrendinoverallnestmass,althoughnestcompositiondidchange.Themassofthenests'mossbaseandHenFleaabundanceshowednoseasonalvariation,buttherewasaseasonaldeclineinthemassofthecupliningmaterial,suggestingthatfemaleBlueTitsselectivelyadjustthecupliningcomponentoftheirneststoreflectincreasingambienttemperaturesinordertocreateanoptimalmicroclimateforthedevelopingembryosandnestlings.
