[摘要] TheLittleBitternisoneoftheleaststudiedheronspeciesinitsbreedingrange.Thenominate,PalaearcticraceIxobrychusm.minutushasbeengenerallyassumedtobesingle-broodedonly,yetdetailedstudiesofitsbreedingbiologyandmatingsystemarelacking.Thepresentpaperprovidesthefirstobservationalevidenceofsuccessfuldouble-broodinginthenominateraceoftheLittleBitternandgivesthefirstrecordoftime-overlappingdouble-broodinginthespecies.Potentialdeterminantsofthisbreedingstrategyaswellasthefrequencyofitsoccurrencearediscussed.
