Sub-Parsec-Scale Acceleration of the Radio Jet in the Powerful Radio Galaxy NGC 6251
[摘要] Inordertoinvestigatethegenesisofapowerfulradiojet,wehavemappedthecentral10pcregionofthenearbyradiogalaxy,NGC6251,witha0.2pcresolutionusingVeryLongBaselineInterferometer(VLBI)attworadiofrequencies,5GHzand15GHz.Wehavefoundthesub-parsec-scalecounterjetforthefirsttimeinthisradiogalaxy.Thisdiscoveryallowsustoinvestigatethejetaccelerationbasedontherelativisticbeamingmodel.
