Suzaku Observation of Diffuse X-Ray Emission from the Carina Nebula
[摘要] WestudiedextendedX-rayemissionfromtheCarinaNebulatakenwiththeSuzakuCCDcameraXISon2005August29.TheX-raymorphology,plasmatemperature,andabsorptiontotheplasmaareconsistentwiththeearlierEinsteinresults.TheSuzakuspectranewlyrevealedemissionlinesfromvariousspecies,includingoxygen,butnotfromnitrogen.Thisresultrestrictsthe$$mathrm{N/O}$$ratiotobesignificantlylow,comparedwithevolvedmassivestellarwinds,suggestingthatthediffuseemissionoriginatedinanoldsupernovaremnantorasupershellproducedbymultiplesupernovaremnants.TheX-rayspectrafromthenorthandsouthof$$eta$$Carshoweddistinctdifferencesbetween0.3–2 keV.ThesouthspectrumshowsstrongL-shelllinesofironionsandK-shelllinesofsiliconions,whilethenorthspectrumshowsthemweakinintensity.Thismeansthatthesiliconandironabundancesareafactorof2–4higherinthesouthregionthaninthenorthregion.TheabundancevariationmaybeproducedbyanSNRejecta,orrelatedtodustformationaroundthestar-formingcore.
