Apparent Photosphere of Massive Accretion-Disk Winds
[摘要] Weexaminedtheobservationalappearanceofhighlyopticallythickwindsfromsupercriticalaccretiondisks,whileespeciallyfocusingontheshapeofa“photosphereâ€ofthewind.Whenamassivewindblowsfromanaccretiondisk,theopticaldepthofthewindmayexceedunityintheplace,whichishigherthanthescaleheightofthedisk.Ifsuchawindisrealized,theobservedlightmayhaveoriginatedfromthephotosphereofthewind,ratherthanfromthedisksurface.Wecalculatedtheapparentsurfaceofthephotosphere,wheretheobservedopticaldepthisunity,andcompareditwiththegeometryoftheaccretiondisk.Wefoundthatthewindphotospherecanexpandoverthediskscale-heightforsuper-Eddingtonmass-lossrates,butthelocationandappearanceofthephotospherestronglydependontheinclinationangleaswellasthemass-lossrate.Thisfactmayaffectontheinterpretationoflightcurvesingalacticeclipsingbinariesandrecentlywell-observedultraluminousX-raysources.
