Seroprevalence of Cytomegalovirus Antibody in Renal Transplant Recipients and Donors in Khuzestan Province, Iran

[摘要] Objective:Cytomegalovirus(CMV)hasbeenrecognizedasoneofthemostimportantopportunisticpathogensinkidneytransplantpatients.TheaimofthisstudywastodeterminetheprevalenceofCMVantibodyindonorsandrecipientsbeforetransplantation.MaterialsandMethods:InacrosssectionalstudyfromMarch2008toAugust2009weprospectivelystudieddonorsandrecipientswhoreferredtoourkidneytransplantcenter.AllofroutinepretransplantelaboratorystudiesincludingliverfunctiontestsandCMVIgGandIgMantibodywereperformedforthem.Results:Atotalof148patients(79donorsand69recipients)wereincludedinthestudy.Meanageofdonorsandrecipientswere30±8yearsand40±18yearsrespectively.LiverFunctiontests(SGOTandSGPT)wereatnormalrangeandmarkerofHBVinfectionwasnegativeinbothgroupsbutHCVantibodywaspositivein2.89percentofrecipients(n=2)andnegativeinallofdonors.CMVIgGantibodywaspositivein100percentofrecipientsand98.73percentofdonors(n=78).CMVIgMantibodywasnegativein98.55percentofrecipients(n=68)and100percentofdonors(n=79).Conclusion:CVMinfectionisverycommonindonorsandrecipientscandidateforkidneytransplantationinKhuzestanprovinceandalmostalloftheminthisstudyhaveCMVIgGantibody
