Hypertension Among 30+ Year-Old People in Zahedan (Southeast of Iran).

[摘要] Target#38;aim::Hypertension(HTN)isconsideredapublichealthproblemduetoitsmagnitude,risk,anddifficultytocontrol.Estimatesoftheprevalenceofhypertensionarecertainlyin-creasingintheworld.SincesuchastudywasnotyetcarriedoutinZahedan,thissurveywasconductedtofindouttheprevalenceofhypertensioninZahedan,southeastofIran(2006-2007).Materials#38;Methods::Thiscross-sectionalstudywascarriedouton2300individuals(1150menand1150women)ofage30+yearsinZahedan.Sampleswereselectedrandomlyfromallregions.Weight,height,BodyMassIndex(BMI)andbloodpressureweremeasuredusingordinarymethods.Obtaineddatawereanalyzedusingversion11ofSPSS,viaChisquareandstudentT-Tests.Resultswereexpressedaspercentageandmean±SD.P#60;0.05wasconsid-eredstatisticallysignificant.Results::TheresultsobtainedfromthissurveyshowedthatprevalencerateofhypertensioninZahedanwere27.08%(32.3%inmenand22.5%inwomen).Inaddition,prevalencerateofhypertensioninBaluchethnicgroupwashigherthanthatofotherethnicgroupsandin-creasedbyage,BMIandthefamilysize.Conclusion::HypertensionprevalenceratewashighinZahedanandtherewasalsoadirectrelationshipbetween,BMI,age,ethnicityandthefamilysizeandhypertension.
