Comparing the Efficacy of Dates and Oxytocin in the Management of Postpartum Hemorrhage

[摘要] Introduction:Theaimofstudywasacomparisonbetweendatesandoxytocininpreventionofpostpartumhemorrhage.Inmodernobstetrics,generaltrendtoutilizenon-aggressivetreatmentmethodsthatisquitesafe,cheapandfewsymptoms.DatefruithasCalcium,serotonin,tannin,glucosethattheyareimportantforbleedingcontrol.MaterialsandMethods:ThisstudywasperformedinImamRezaandHazratZainabHospitals,MashhadUniversityofMedicalScience.Itwasclinicaltrialthatwasperformedon62womendeliveredinhospital.Immediatelyafterplacentaldelivery,50gramoralDegletNoordates(group1)and10unitofintramuscularoxytocin(group2)weregiven.AtthesametimeaPlasticandacottonsheetwerewidenunderthepatientsandapadwasplacedontheperineumtoabsorbbloodorfluid.Allpadswerecollecteduntil3hourafterplacentaldeliveryandwereweighedeveryonehour.Thedifference,beforeandafterweightwascalculated.(100gramincreaseinweightwasconsideredtobeequivalentto100mlblood).Results:Bloodlossmeanintheendoffirsthourafterdeliveryweresignificantlydifferentindatesandoxytocingroups(104mlvs141.6ml,p=0.043),Butinsecondandthirdhourwerenotsignificant,althoughthebleedingindatesgroupwasless.Inwholethreehoursafterdeliverythebloodlossmeanindatesgroupwassignificantlylessthanoxytocingroup(162.5mlvs220.7,p=0.02).conclusion:Useoforaldatesafterdeliverydecreasesbleedingmorethanintramascularoxytocinandit'sagoodalternativeinnormaldelivery.
