Prevalence and Determinant of Tuberculin Skin Test among Health Care Workers of Imam Khomeini Hospital of Uremia, Iran.

[摘要] BackgroundandAim:Healthcareworkers(HCWs)indevelopingcountriesareatriskfornosocomialtuberculosis(TB).Inthisstudy,wearegoingtodeterminetheprevalenceofTBinfectionamongHCWsinImamKhomeinihospitalofUremia,northwesternIran.MaterialsandMethods:Itisacrosssectionalstudy,conductedbetweenAprilandJune2004.Tuberculinskintest(TST)surveywasconductedamong350HCW,andmeasuredtheindurationssize.Results:From350participants,71(20.28%)hadindurationsbetween10-15mmand96(27.42%)hadindurationsmorethan15mm.MostofHCWswithindurationsmorethan15mmwereinageof20-30years.From75HCWswithemploymentdurationofmorethan10years,45(47%)hadindurationsofmorethan15mm.Conclusion:PPDreactioninHCWswashighercomparisonwithcontrolgroup,meaningthisgroupareathighriskforAcquiredTB.
