Germ Tube Formation in Candida Albicans:

[摘要] UsingthemethodofElmeretal(11),thegermtubetestwasperformedfor10previouslyconfirmedgerm-tubepositiveCandidaalbicansisolates,usingseraobtainedfromhuman,rabbit,sheep,cowandgoatblood.Thepossibilityofgermtubeformationwithin30minuteshasbeenfurtherconfirmedinthisstudy.Comparismofmeantimeofgermtubeformationintheserausedshowedasignificantdifferenceforcowandgoatsera(Plt;0.05),withhumanseruminducinggermtubesatafasterrate.Therewasnosignificantdifferences(Pgt;0.05)forbothrabbitandsheepsera.UsingStudentt-testanalysis,therewassignificantdifference(plt;0.05)whendifferentatmosphericconditionsofincubationwerecompared,withafasterrateofformationofgermtubesin10%CO2.Thepreferentialuseofrabbitorsheepserafordemonstratinggermtubeformationissuggested,toforestallpossibletransmissionofinfectiouspathogensthroughhumanblood
