Comparing the Effect of Stellate Ganglion Block and Gabapentin on the Post Mastectomy Pain Syndrome.

[摘要] Background:Thereportedincidenceofpostmastectomypainsyndromefollowingsurgeryforbreastcancervariesconsiderablywithreportsfromaslowas4-6%toashighas100%.Thispaincanbesevereenoughtointerferewithsleepandperformanceofdailyactivities.Postmastectomypainsyndromeisaneuropathicpainconditionthatcanfollowsurgicaltreatmentforbreastcancer.Thepurposeofthisstudyistoevaluatetheeffectofstellateganglionblockwithgabapentinonpostmastectomypain.MaterialsandMethods:Sixtypatientsreferredfromdepartmentofoncologyandsurgerytopainclinicwereallocatedtotwogroups.IngroupAstellateganglionblockwasperformedwith8mlbupivacaine0.25%.IngroupB,patientsweretreatedwithgabapentin900mgperdayinthreedivideddoses.Drugdosewasincreasedifnecessaryuntileightweeks.Painscoreandqualityoflifeweredetermined.Datawerecollectedbeforetreatment,48hoursandevery15daysaftertreatmentuntilthreemonths.Results:Painscoresat48hoursaftertreatingwerehigheringroupBthangroupAandloweratoneweek,onemonthandthreemonthsaftertreatmentwhichwerestaticallysignificant.(P
