Investigating the Relationships Between Obesity and Sexual Function and Its Components

[摘要] Background:Propersexualfunctionisanimportantfactorthataffectsfamilystrength.Recently,theissueofobesityandtheinfluenceofbodymassindex(BMI)onsexualfunctionhavereceivedincreasingresearchattention.Objectives:Thisstudyaimedtoinvestigatetherelationshipbetweensexualfunctionanditsdomainswithobesityandcentralobesity.Methods:Thiscross-sectionalstudywasconductedon514womenaged15-45yearswhopresentedatShirazhealthcarecentersin2014-2015.Simplerandomsamplingwasperformed.Datawerecollectedbyapplyingthefemalesexualfunctionindex(FSFI),weight,andmeter.Thequestionnaireconsistedof19questionsthatevaluatedsixdomains,asfollows:sexualdesire,arousal,lubrication,orgasm,satisfaction,andpain.Scoreslt;28onthequestionnairewereconsideredtorepresentsexualdysfunction.Theresultswereanalyzedusingthet-test,Fishertest,Chi-squaretest,andPearsoncorrelationcoefficient.Results:Themeanageofthesubjectswas30.9±5.8years.ThemeanscoreforBMIinpeoplewithsexualdysfunctionwas25.5±4.09,whichwasnotstatisticallysignificantlydifferentfromthosewithoutsexualdysfunction.Themeanscoreofcentralobesitywas0.75±0.12inpeoplewithsexualdysfunction;thiswasnotstatisticallysignificantincomparisontothosewithoutsexualdysfunction.Amongthefemalesexualfunctiondomains,onlysexualdesire(P=0.05)andarousal(P=0.02)hadasignificantcorrelationwithBMI.Thereweresignificantrelationshipsbetweenwaist-to-hipratio(WHR)andsexualarousal(P=0.04)andsatisfaction(P=0.02).Conclusions:TheonlysignificantrelationshipswerefoundbetweensexualdesireandarousalandBMIandbetweencentralobesityandsexualarousalandsatisfaction.
