Modelling the interfaces of bondable pultrusions
[摘要] he thesis introduces novel techniques to study the effects of moulding materials includingdifferent fabric architecture on the strength of pultruded adhesive joints and how toimprove it. The overall objectives are (i) to devise laboratory techniques which mimic thepultrusion moulding process using glass fabric and vinyl ester resin and other mouldingmaterials, (ii) to optimise the moulding materials and maximise the level of adhesion of thepultrusion and hence to improve the structural efficiency of the joints and (iii) to determinecritical stresses and failure initiation through thickness of the composite laminate usingmulti-scale modeling.
