Propagation of longitudinal and transverse waves in a transversely isotropic elastic material rotating about the axis of symmetry

[摘要] References(6)Cited-By(1)We discuss the propagation of longitudinal and transverse waves in an unbounded transversely isotropic medium rotating about its axis of symmetry. A longitudinal wave can propagate only along the axis of symmetry. For a transverse wave, either the wave normal or the polarization vector must be parallel to the axis of rotation, in general. Transverse waves also exist for special orientations of the wave normal.
