RECOMBINATION PATHWAY SPECIFICITY OF CHI

[摘要] Chi in phage λ is a genetic element increasing the rate of recombination in its vicinity. Chi activity requires the wild-type functions of both the recA and the recB genes of E. coli . In terms of the pathway concept for recombination, Chi is active in the RecBC pathway and inactive in the Red, RecE, and RecF pathways.
