Some Experiments on the Wet-bulb-thermometer
[摘要] When we observe humidity by a wet-and-dry-bulb hygrometer, we notice that the depression of the wet-bulb-thermometer depends on the length of the string and size of the the water vessel to dip this string in. The author investigated these effects experimentally and got the result that the former effect is sensibly great but the latter is negligibly small. He has found that in the average of about 60 observations a psychrometer with 8cm string shows humidity about 2% too high compared with one with 5cm string when the humidity is about 50%.
