Geographical Analysis of the Cherry-blossom

[摘要] In this paper it was intended to express the date of first flowering of cherry trees at meteorological stations in Japan and China by a linear equation: where y is the date of first flowering, ψ the latitude, λ the longitude and h the altitude of a station.Using the observed data, the values of the constants in the mathematical expression were computed for the flowering of Prunus yedoensis, Matsum. and Prunus serrulata, Lindl. var. spontanea, Mak.For the former species, For the latter, The results of computation are given in tables 1 and 2.
