On the Effect of Ground on Evaporation

[摘要] The amount of evaporation from evaporimeters was compared under various conditions of the ground and it was found that the amount of evaporation depends on the condition of the ground. For example, an evaporimeter on a wooden board evaporates about 20% larger amount of water, than that on lawn grass. Such a difference seems to be explained by the difference in temperature of water due to the conduction of heat from the ground.
