A Note on the Energy Transferin Burgers’Model of Turbulence
[摘要] The distribution of energy transfer between eddies of different sizes is examined, on the basis of Burgers’ model of turbulence, for a special form of the energy spectrum of turbulence. Uses are made of the statisticalhypotheses that fourth-order mean values are related to second-order mean values as they would be for a normal probability distribution. In particular, the exact solution of the inviscid eqution for the velocity gradient is obtained and it is shown that the mean-square value of the velocity gradient increases to infinity within a finite time.
