Various Simple Solutions of the Barotropic Vorticity Equation

[摘要]  The Jacobian term in the barotorpic vorticity equation vanishes, if one of following conditions is satisfied; (1) Δ2ψ = F(ψ) (2) Δ2ψ = F(t) (3) Δ2ψ and ψ are functions of one same space variable. All simple solutions ever obtained satisfy one of these conditions. We discussed these solutions from unified standpoint and remarked existence of certain solutions which escaped the attention of meteorogists.
