On the Effect of Topography on the Helmholtz Wave. II
[摘要] In my previous papar, I have concluded that if the temperatures of upper and lower mediums are always constants, the wave length and the amplitude of the Helmholtz wave must be larger and smaller respectively than those of the Helmholtz wave free from the topography near the summit for stable wave and yet there are some places, at which the case is nearly opposit, a little way off the summit. In that papar, however, I have assumed that the shape of mountain range is a semi-circular cylinder. In the present papar, I have treated the same problem for a semi-elliptic eylider, and some other cases, on flat land, and attained the same conclusions again, but the effects are smaller than those of the former. In other words, there are the tendeneies such that the helmholtz wave is difficult to appear over the mountain top, but it is easy to occur at a little way off the summit.
