On the Spectral Analysis of Traveling Waves

[摘要] A method of spectral analysis of traveling waves, based on time-wise Fourier series analysis of zonal harmonics, is presented and illustrated by applying it to the 500 and 10 mb levels at 45°N for January 1965. The method of analysis is compared to that published recently in this journal by Hayashi.
