Non-Linear Convection in a Moist Atmospheric Layer Heated from Below

[摘要] In this paper a non-linear model is derived to represent mesoscale cellular convection in the earth's atmosphere. The moisture content within the layer is allowed to vary and a comparison is made between the results of the numerical integrations and the observed characteristics of convection cells that occur, primarily over warm ocean currents.
