A new Study on the Cup-Anemometer. I

[摘要] In this study the author made an effort to discover the characteristics of the relation between the actual velocity of wind V and the speed of rotation of the anemometer-cups u, from the experimental datis with respect to the Kew standard nine-inch-cup-anemometer. As the result of this investigation, we obtained three sets of empirical formulas of different degrees of accuracy, which show us fair general feature of the relation between V and u. Even by the most simple formula of them, the deviation of the culculated value of V from the observed one does not exceed 1.5 percent of the latter.From a theoretical point of view we can induce a general relationThis formula coinsides with our empirical ones at many significant points.
