Dynamical Estimation of Atmospheric Diabatic Heating Over the Northern Hemisphere in Winter

[摘要] Atmospheric diabatic heating rate in the lower troposphere in January of nine years is estimated as the residual in the thermodynamic equation from the data of observed temperature and geopotential height. The heating rate shows marked year-to-year variation. Particularly, they heat source over the North Atlantic has two preferred locations and exhibits some seesaw feature.
