Are UK product liability laws sufficient for the integration of autonomous vehicles?

[摘要] This thesis seeks to examine the product liability framework in light of the recent explosion of autonomous vehicles (AVs). It considers the main elements of the Consumer Protection Act 1987 (CPA) as it relates to AVs, and examines four broad concerns: our perception of fault, the meaning of defect, the classification of property, and the scientific defence. Through exploring these four areas we can conclude whether there are areas of concern with the CPA as it currently stands for the integration of AVs.
