CORRELATION OF DATA ON THE APPARENT FRIC-TION COEFFICIENT IN UPWARD TWO-PHASE FLOW OF AIR-LIQUID MIXTURES

[摘要] References(27)Cited-By(1)Experiments were made on the two-phase pressure drop in vertical upward flow. A similar type of correlation for the apparent friction coefficient to that proposed by Rippel et al. was developed to include the physical properties of liquids. In the correlation the apparent friction coefficient is expressed as a function of the ratio of the mass flow rate of gas and liquid and the liquid Reynolds number. It was found that the change in the slope of the correlation curve corresponded to the transition point of the flow pattern. This type of correlation was applied to data from the literature obtained with various geometries of HDW. A correlation between the apparent friction coefficient and liquid film thickness, including wave height, was also proposed.
