A Proposal for a High Resolution Focal Plane Detector

[摘要] This thesis is an investigation into the most effective way of constructing a high resolution focal plane detector for the Glasgow photon tagging spectrometer installed at Mainz. Chapter 1 summarises the objectives which must be met by such a detector and concludes which detectors should be further pursued. Chapter 1 also outlines and investigates the pertinent spectrometer specifications, with particular emphasis on magnet optics, so that decisions can be made about the required detector dimensions.
