A PHOTOELECTRIC METHOD FOR ESTIMATING INFLAMMATORY INTENSITY IN MICE AND ITS APPLICATION TO THE ANTI-INFLAMMATORY EVALUATION OF GLUCURONIC ACID DERIVATIVES
[摘要] References(35)Cited-By(4)As is well known, intravenously administered dye extravasates at the site of inflammation (1-4). This phenomenon has been used as one of the bases for the bioassay of experimentally induced inflammation (5-10). However, estimation of the extravasated dye either directly or by comparison to standard color chart, was not always satisfactory because of being influenced by subjective bias. Subsequently, Sachs and Lummis (11) recommended the spectrophotemetric measurement of the dye extracted from the inflammed tissue. In this paper, the authors propose a convenient method for the quantitative estimation of extravasated dye at the site of inflammation in mice using a photoelectric technique. The technique was utilized to demonstrate the anti-inflammatory activity of cortisone, salicylates, aminopyrine, tripelennamine, and glucuronic acid derivatives.
