Geology and petrology of the margin of the Rhum ultrabasic intrusion, Inner Hebrides, Scotland
[摘要] During the course of this study encouragement and assistance wasprovided from many sources. I am particularly grateful to mysupervisor Colin Donaldson who proposed this project, and with amixture of practical advice and instruction helped to make myPh.D work in St. Andrews a very enjoyable and profitableexperience. I would also like to express my appreciation to Ed.Stephans who gave considerable help in many areas, in particularwith geochemical analysis and computing. Technical assistancewith various aspects of this work was given by Andy MacKie,Donald Herd, Jim Allen, Angus Calder, Alisdair Reed and R.Bachelor. Isotopic analyses were carried out at S.U.R.R.C. EastKilbride under the supervision of Alan Dickin and Tony Fallick.Considerable logistic support during fieldwork was provided bymembers of the Nature Conservancy Council on Rhum, in particularI would like to thank the former Warden Laughton Johnson for allhis help.
