New Perspectives on Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia
[摘要] Up until the early 1990s, the only accepted treatment for men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) was prostatectomy. The menu of options currently available for the treatment of BPH includes medical therapies, minimally invasive therapies, and prostatectomy. Because the overwhelming majority of men with BPH seek treatment for bothersome lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS), medical therapy has emerged as the most widely offered first-line intervention. Therefore, primary care physicians are now playing an integral role in the treatment of BPH.
