The Predictive Capability of Prostate-Specific Antigen Kinetics

[摘要] In the last decade, it has been recognized and repeatedly demonstrated that prostate-specific-antigen (PSA) kinetics are an important indicator of the aggressiveness of prostate cancer. Specifically, PSA pretreatment velocity and PSA doubling time (PSADT) after PSA failure are major factors in determining the prognosis of men with prostate cancer. Rapid PSA velocity (> 2.0 ng/mL/y) and short PSADT (< 10–12 months) are associated with poor prognosis.
