A review study of therapeutic effects of Iranian borage(Echium amoenum Fisch)

[摘要] Echium amoenum belong to Boraginaceae family is a biennial or perennial herb indigenous to the narrow zone of northern part of Iran and Caucasus.the aim of this study was to overview the therapeutic effects of Iranian borage (Echium amoenum Fisch).This review article was carried out by searching studies in PubMed, Medline, Web of Science, and Iran Medex databases .The initial search strategy identified about 98 references. In this study, 43 studies was accepted for further screening and met all our inclusion criteria (in English, full text, therapeutic effects of borage and dated mainly from the year 1991 to 2016).The search terms were “borage, echiumamonium”, “therapeutic properties” ,pharmacological effects. It is commonly used for its rheumatoid arthritis, atopic dermatitis, diabetic neuropathy, and menopause-related symptoms
