Free radical scavenging activity of plant extracts of Chlorophytum tuberosum B

[摘要] Roots of Chlorophytum tuberosum are very popular and well known for its aphrodisiac, immune-modulatory and tonic properties. In this study the antioxidant effect ethanolic and aqueous extract of dried roots of Chlorophytum tuberosum Baker was evaluated by 2,2-diphenyl-1,1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging, Nitric oxide radical scavenging assay and reducing assay methods and compared. Result indicated that ethanolic extract of the dried roots exhibited potent antioxidant activity.
