Synthesis and characterization of novel 2-(2-benzyl-1H-benzo[d]imidazol-1-yl)acetohydrazone derivatives as antibacterial agents

[摘要] A novel series of 2-Benzyl substituted benzimidazole acetohydrazone derivatives was synthesized by multistep reaction sequences. The synthesized compounds were characterized using IR, 1H NMR, mass and elemental analysis. Antibacterial activities of the compounds were evaluated against selective gram positive and gram negative bacteria. Compound 7 was found to be most active among the series.
