Phenomenon of Local Skin Reactivity to Pneumococcus

[摘要] In this paper there is described the phenomenon of local skin reactivity to pneumococcus. The phenomenon is elicited by skin preparation with B. typhosus “agar washings” filtrate and intravenous injection either of active pneumococcus filtrate, or a mixture of inactive pneumococcus filtrate with antipneumococcus immune serum.The methods for preparation of pneumococcus reacting factors are described in the text.The observations reported suggest new considerations in immunopathology and therapy of pneumococcus infections.
