Comparative Effects of Infection and of Immunization on Serum Glycoprotein Concentrations

[摘要] The effects of infection and of immunization on the serum concentrations of total glycoprotein, seromucoid, γ-globulin polysaccharide, total protein, and γ-globulin protein have been investigated. Statistically significant increases occurred in the serum components in Brucella-infected and in Brucella-immunized groups with the single exception of the total protein values of the immunized guinea pigs. The conclusion was drawn that the increased concentrations of serum glycoproteins observed in infection are due in part to the antibody response.
