The Role of Serum Proteins in Gel-Precipitin Patterns of Pasteurella Pestis
[摘要] While studying diffusion of two separate complex antigenic mixtures ( Pasteurella pestis suspensions) in parallel directions, the authors noted retardation of diffusion of antigenic components when organisms were suspended in normal rabbit serum or albumin fractionated from normal rabbit serum. This observation served to explain some of the aberrant results obtained when normal rabbit serum was used as a suspending agent for external reactant in the simple linear diffusion technic of Oudin. The conclusion was reached that rabbit serum albumin has a combining affinity for P. pestis antigens, and probably other antigens.
