Effect of Anti-Hamster Thymocyte Serum on Papovavirus SV40-Induced Transplantation Immunity

[摘要] The effect of anti-hamster thymocyte serum (AHTS) on SV40-induced transplantation immunity was investigated. The AHTS, when administered to hamsters during the period of virus immunization, was effective in preventing the sensitization of animals to virus-induced transplantation antigens; the treated animals failed to reject the cells transformed by SV40. Animals immune to SV40-transformed cells also failed to reject a challenge of the transformed cells following treatment with AHTS. The animals treated with AHTS and bearing tumors induced by the SV40-transformed cells synthesized antibodies against SV40 T antigen in a manner comparable to the synthesis of such antibodies by untreated animals bearing tumors.
