Studies of Human C-Reactive Protein in an in Vitro Phagocytic System

[摘要] The interaction of human C-reactive protein and phagocytic mechanisms was studied using an in vitro phagocytosis assay with human polymorphonuclear leukocytes, isolated γG opsonins, or various opsonic serum fractions and living bacteria. No consistent phagocytosis potentiating or blocking effect was seen with isolated human C-reactive protein either added to the phagocytic mixtures or after preincubation with either bacteria or fresh serum fractions.
